Show ARE GETTING ANGRY I Committees for Employees Ignored i by tho Wabash Officials St Louis Mo Jan 2L The negotiations negotia-tions between tho Wabash railroad officials of-ficials and tho committees sent hereby here-by the trainmen to secure an advance In wages have taken a turn which may result In a serious crisis The committees commit-tees presented their claims several dzvya ago and have been waIting for a decision de-cision This It Is said was not forthcoming < forth-coming as soon as they believed Itt It-t would be and they summoned the chlcOi of the four great divisions of the organizations of railroad employees The men came Thursday and spent ho I I entire day In investigating the demands of the men Afterward they sent a message J mes-sage to General Afanagcr Ramsay oC the Wabash asking for a conference This they aay was not granted Then they sent a telegram to President Ashley Ash-ley of the Wabash In New York asking ask-ing him to grant a conference Mr Ashley replied that he would take tho request under advisement P M Arthur chief of the Brotherhood I Brother-hood of Locomotive Engineers who acts as spokesman for the national of llcers says We have always been careful and have not supported the men 4 In a claim which was In the least unjust un-just If we had been granted a conference con-ference the whole matter would probably prob-ably be now Hettled As It Is there is I no telling how long we will have to wait for an answer from the powers in New York We will remain here a reasonable reason-able length of time and If the matter Is not then adjusted or at leant on the way to an understanding wo will decide what steps shall be taken |
