trouble could not be prevented Judge George Denny for the defendant In I an argument upon the competency of a question said It I Is perfectly lawful I for people lo come here and to come armed I came here armed several times myself He was referring to the crowd that was present pres-ent at the mass meeting hold In the t State house yard just prior to Gov Gocbels assassination Col Campbell for the prosecution replied that he did not consider It law ful and was 8urpll led lo know that Air Denny had come here armed Denny denied having made such a statement and said that he did not come rmtd Campbell Insisted that he made the statement Both men were I very much excllcd and spoke with ve hemence and with arms shaking commenced com-menced to advance toward each other MADE A WILD RUSH The had misconstrued Judge Dennys stale merit At the conclusion of the examination of Golden the commonwealth rested its case It was stated last night that Mrs Golden would also be introduced as a i tell what he knev about the assassination and If I he did the attorneys for the com monwealth would try to save him from prosecution Thomas B Cromwell u ho swore out the varrant against Powers was the Winchester that he Intended to loll all he knew about the affair While he was in Winchester he said he AVas slopped by two men Dr Foster and William Steele who grabbed him by the arms and cursed him for exposing the Republican part Golden replied that he had not exposed the party Gov Brown asked him If he had not told the Iwo men that ho kncAv nothing about the affair Golden said he might have
