Show WEATHER AND CROP BULLETIN ° Department of Agriculture Weather Bureau The Showers Salt Lake City Utah April 10 1000 Showers fell during the first part of the week ending April nth and hiemly rain or snow was general over all sections sec-tions from the 7th to the Oth At Salt Lake City the total precipitation for the week amounted to 117 inches and this Is about the average fall for the sections of the State under cultivation Practically no precipitation had fallen since March 1th and in some localities in the southern section the drought had been of much longer duration Spring work and planting began earlier than usual Spring wheat Is nearly all In the ground and much of It had lain for some time unable to germinate on account of the dry condition of tIme soil Oat sowing Is now in piogresw Fall wheat Is in excellent condition and lucerne promises flit early crop Fruit trees are in bloom Minimum temperatures temper-atures of from M degrees to 30 degrees were reached during the latter part of the week but no serious damage Is thought to have resulted to the fruit crop |
