Show Respecting a Pugilist Among the late arrivals at a prizefight prize-fight in one of the Brooklyn clubs the other night was a tall man weighing about 215 pounds Tho passageway 1 leading to the seats In this club Is narrow nar-row No especial attention would have I been paid to the big man if he had not stood In the passageway and made it I difficult for others to get by him One of the contestants was evidently a friend of his or ho may have had a few dollars up on the boys chances He became very enthusiastic and shouted things at the top of his voice The crowd was overjoyed at the big mans excitement and those near by I were watching him Instead of the fight era While this was going on a policeman I police-man about five inches shorter and weighing about fifty pounds less than the man who was doing the shouting was pushing his way through the crowd to order the big man to n seat The policeman finally reached the mans side and catching him by the arm said Got to n seat there and stop your yelling or youll go outS out-S The man paid no attention to the policeman but kept on yelling The crowd had become Intensely interested I and one man tapped the policeman on the arm and said U thats Ed Dunkhorst the heavyweight fighter The policeman stood aside for a few minutes nnd eyed the supposed pugilist pugi-list cautiously Finally he became l convinced that It was true He walked over to the new arrival and in a polite way said Will you please take a scat up above so that the people can pass This time the stranger did as he was lhls tme requested The policeman then turned around and started away but the crowd guyed him so that he went of and hid himself New York Sun |
