SMOKER OF BUTCHERS Largo Number of Meat Dealers Enjoy En-joy n Social I The butchers amokcr Jn the Auerbach building last evening was attended by over 10 members of that fraternity engaged In the retail and wholesale business AV W Thompson was general gen-eral muster of ceremonies nnd the address ectcmoDcs dress of welcome was delivered by WJlllam Wood Jr who represented the retailers Richard Papworth followed on behalf of the wholesalers H Phil lips told a very funny story there was t piano solo by W Poulton Jr and a cpmlc song by L Ensign and music by the glee club In addition to this there wn an address by J M Marriott Jn which he congratulated the members of the butchers fraternity on so large an attendance and hoped that this would bo the first of many such gatherings gath-erings He did not see why rlvals In business might not meet around the socIal board one In 1 while and thus get better acquainted with each other J He believed that a better personal nc f qualntance among the butchers would result In good to all I was resolved to give a ball in the near future The event all through was very en joyable and the time spent on the re freuhments was well put in The committee com-mittee who arranged and managed the smoker was J M Marriott Marriot D C Richardson Rich-ardson William Wood Jr I C Weant Albert Myer and J 11 Prooce It was about midnight when the smoker ended and mutual good wishes went with the adjournment
