Show Utah Publishers Meet In S.L. For 63rd Annual Convention Publishers from throughout the state will be in Salt Lake City Friday, Saturday and Sunday Sun-day to attend sessions of the 63rd annual convention of the Utah State Press Association. The convention is being held at Hotel Utah. It opens Friday at 2 p.m. with a business committee com-mittee meeting said William B. Wallis. Vernal, convention chairman. chair-man. Registration continues Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. At 3 p.m. there will be a meeting of the Board of Directors and at 7 p.m. the president's reception. Saturday sessions will hear talks by Herbert F. Kretchman, editorial writer for the Salt Lake Tribune; Curtis MacDougall, professor of journalism at Northwestern North-western University; Sen. R. La-Vaun La-Vaun Cox and Rep. C. N. Cliff Memmott; Max Warner. Payson, chairman of USPA's Ethics and Standards Committee; Maj. Gen. Maxwell E. Rich, adjutant general gen-eral of the Utah National Guard; Theodore A. Serrill, executive vice president of National Editorial Edi-torial Association; John Shin-ners, Shin-ners, president of the Wisconsin Press Association, and Gordon P. Owen Jr., USPA manager. The annual dinner dance is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday at the hotel and new officers will be introduced at 9:30 p.m. Annual awards luncheon is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. A number of special business sessions are scheduled during the three day meet. |
