Show Reclamation Chief Slates Two Talks At Press Meeting The United States Commissioner Commis-sioner of Reclamation will be a luncheon speaker at the Economic Eco-nomic Development Conference which Rep. David S. King has scheduled October 9 in Utah Valley, the Congressman announced an-nounced Wednesday. At Congressman King's request, re-quest, Commissioner Floyd E. Dominy will make two addresses in Provo. The public is invited to hear the commissioner discuss progress prog-ress of the Upper Colorado River Storage Project and planning on the projecf's key unit, the Central Cen-tral Utah project, in the Provo High School auditorium October 9 at 8 p.m., Congressman King said. At the luncheon highlighting the day long economic development develop-ment conference, Mr. Dominy will center his remarks upon the economic gains which the Central Cen-tral Utah Project will bring. "The Central Utah Project will help bring Utah Valley the water it needs to sustain vigorous vigor-ous industrial and agricultural growth during the next 50 years and Mr. Dominy will give Utah County residents a closer look at the details of the project and what it will accomplish," Mr. King said. O Another highlight of the conference, con-ference, in which some 150 business, busi-ness, civic and labor leaders of Utah County communities will discuss ways of broadening the valley's economic base and cutting cut-ting employment, will be a discussion dis-cussion by spokesmen from several sev-eral Utah missile industries. "The missile companies will explain their subcontracting and supply buying policies. A lot of the money which these missile plants are now spending on the subcontracts and supply orders that they place with companies optside the state might be kept in the state if northern Utah, including in-cluding Utah Valley, can expand its ceonomic base," he said. The conference, scheduled at the Riverside Country Club, is to open at 8:30 a.m., October 9. |
