Show Jehovah's Witnesses Chart S. F. Meeting Candlestick Park, San Francisco, Fran-cisco, has been selected for the largest West Coast convention of Jehovah's Witnesses this year, August 29 through September 3. Announcement of the six-day gathering which is expected to draw 50,000 delegates or more was made by Fred Vandres, presiding pre-siding minister of the Salt Lake City Congregation, Central Unit. Organizational arrangements are under the supervision of Shield Halvajian, Inglewood minister min-ister and convention manager. Mr. Halvajian started off the assembly as-sembly organization when 1,715 members of Jehovah's Witnesses gathered at he Oakland Auditorium Audi-torium Theater. There he introduced intro-duced A. L. Franck, veteran rooming manager, who instructed instruct-ed the vanguard workers for canvassing the San Francisco, area for rooms to house visiting delegates. Organizational appointments of 20 department heads and preliminary pre-liminary assignments to co-ordinate them were later made by Mr. Halvajian at a special meeting meet-ing of 197 key men. The United Worshippers assembly as-sembly will be sponsored by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society So-ciety of New York and is one of seven assemblies to be held in the United States and Canada this summer. Six other assemblies assem-blies will be held in Europe during dur-ing this year and will feature speakers from the world headquarters head-quarters as well as district, circuit cir-cuit and local ministers. Many of the local ministers are making plans to attend this Bible gathering and benefit from the spiritual program that has been arranged. |
