Show New Bird Shipment Arrives in Utah Another shipment of exotic game birds under a cooperative agreement between the Utah and Nevada Departments of Fish and Game arrived here. The final shipment of birds included ten common sand grouse and twenty imperial sand grouse wild trapped from their native environment in India. This shipment marks the first and only importation of this latter lat-ter species known in the United States. During the past three years the Department's game farm at Price has been the recipient of several hundred native Asian game birds. According to a Nevada game bird biologist who has been assigned as-signed in India for the past two years to capture these birds, all species should fit well into the , arid land pattern of the western United States and should inhabit in-habit areas where no game bird species are known to exist. |
