Show Commission Reveals Opening Dates for Upland Bird Hunts The fall upland game bird hunts have now been set by the Utah Fish and Game Commission, Commis-sion, with an earlier opening day and longer season for taking the chukar and Hungarian partridge a major change over our past seasons. The pheasant shoot, previously set to open at 8 a.m. Nov. 5, will I vary from three to seven days t in length by counties with a bag I of three and a possession limit of I six cock birds. .1 Quail hunting will run con-! con-! current with the pheasant shoot in all counties', except in Morgan i where these birds may be taken 4 through Nov. 20, and in Wash- ington where they may be taken during two extended seasons, Nov. 19-27 and Dec. 24-31, with A the last week of the hunt in this ? county being confined to only : the western portions of the area. Bag and possession will be 8 and 16 birds, respectively. The chukar Hungarian part- ridge season will open Oct. 8, same day as the annual waterfowl water-fowl season begins this year, and will continue in all counties through Nov. 20. Bag and possession pos-session limits for each species will be three and six, with birds of either sex being fair game. Commission action in setting the longer partridge hunt was taken to afford greater hunter ; opportunity and time to seek these birds which normally in-: in-: habit the unirrigated and margi-'i margi-'i nal lands. The pheasant season by coun- ties allows a three day hunt in I Beaver, Garfield, Iron, Millard, Juab, Kane, Piute, Salt Lake, ! Sanpete, Sevier, Tooele, Wasatch and Utah. A five day season in I Box Elder, Cache, Carbon, Daggett, Dag-gett, Davis, Duchesne, Emery, Grand, Morgan Rich, San Juan, Summit, Uintah and Weber. A seven day season in the eastern portion of Uintah county and two, three day weekends, Nov. 5-7, Nov. 12-14 in Washington county. With few exceptions, the upland up-land game bird hunts followed the recommendation of field personnel per-sonnel and Triangle Committee members throughout the state. By careful attention to x-ray-evidence, radiologists physicians physi-cians specializing in x-rays - can do a more successful job in diagnosing blood clots in the lungs. |
