Show the-LEASED the-LEASED GRAPEVINE William Arthur Thurgood Man-der, Man-der, 83, a former member of the national finance committee of the Democratic party, died Saturday Sat-urday after an illness at his residence, 2832 S. 9050 West. He served on the finance committee com-mittee during the years shortly before and after World War I. For more than 25 years he was Democratic Party chairman of the Oquirrh District. Robert D. Kent, 1461 Kensington Kensing-ton Ave., was elected president of the Utah State Credit Union League during a league meeting at the University of Utah Union Building. He is managing director direc-tor of the Utah State Employees Credit Union. - A new building which would house all state records has been proposed. The proposal was presented pre-sented by J. Grant Iverson, chairman chair-man of the archives committee of the Utah State Historical Society who read a report from Dr. Everett Ev-erett L. Cooley, who is in charge of the archives for the society. The Salt Lake City Commission Commis-sion has agreed to give further study to a proposed new taxicab ordiance that would place meters me-ters in cabs. The matter will be voted on at the commission's next Monday night meeting. The temporary Salt Lake City Purchasing Committee conducted conduct-ed its first meeting this week and Finance Commissioner Ted I. Geurts said he would recommend recom-mend to the City Commission the minimum purchase amount to be considered by the committee commit-tee be increased from $100 to $300. . Judge Ellett was elected to a city judgeship in 1934. In 1941 he was elected to the district dis-trict bench. |
