Show Gen. Rich Presides At Guard Meeting Mapjor General Maxwell Rich, adjutant general of Utah, this week was in Asheville, N. C, where hepresided over the three-day three-day annual meeting of the Adjutants Ad-jutants General Association of the United States. The commanders of the National Na-tional Guard in 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico form the organization Gen. Rich has headed for two years. He called the meeting to order Monday. He says it was mainly a business session. Many prominent military and government figures addressed the Guard leaders. ' General Bruce C. Clarks, commanding com-manding general of the U. S. Continental Army Command, spoke Wednesday. He was followed fol-lowed by the Honorable Bryce N. Harlow, Deputy Assistant to the President. Earlier in the convention, Delaware Del-aware Gov. J. Caleb Boggs ad-dresed ad-dresed the annual States Dinner Tuesday night. 1 During Tuesday's opening session, ses-sion, Maj. Gen. Donald W. Mc-Gowan, Mc-Gowan, chief of the National Guard Bureau, moderated panel discussion on Guard topics. The business sessions between these events took up items of interest in-terest to the Guard which have come up during the past year, and lay the groundwork for another an-other year. This year's meeting was held at the Grove Park Inn, a resort hotel in Asheville. |
