Show Commission Takes Varied Actions Actions taken by the Utah Fish and Game Commission in meetings meet-ings conducted last week include the following: Approved the opening of Fish Creek below Scofield Dam to year around fishing, following publication of a supplemental proclamation showing same as required by law. Reaffirmed that Deer Creek Reservoir be opened to angling only during the regular season June 7 through November 15. This action was taken because of recent publicity indicating this water would open at an earlier date and is in line with commission policy to confine all watern possible to a general angling an-gling season other than those which are open all year. Confirmed motion of an earlier meeting to discontinue trash fish control program at Strawberry Reservoir as conducted in 1957 and leave to discretion of department de-partment any future such programs pro-grams on this water. Signed the 1958 life preserver proclamation. This regulation reads the same as last year and requires each person in a boat on a Utah water to be equipped with a life preserver which is "Coast Guard approved or its equivalent." The commission reminded re-minded again that only Coast Guard approved life preservers will be acceptable in the future. Reaffirmed a motion made during dur-ing December, when the angling regulations for 1958 were set, to open Fish Lake during the regular regu-lar season June 7 through November No-vember 15. In final action the commission members tentatively set another special meeting for late February Febru-ary or early March. "Cause for action" was found regarding license privilege revocation revo-cation in nine of the 13 cases recently processed by the Utah Fish and Game Commission. The Commissioners are required re-quired by law to review all cases wherein persons are involved in wounding or killing accidents of another person while on a hunting hunt-ing trip. If negligence or carelessness care-lessness is found such person may lose his hunting license privilege for a period of five years. |
