Show Utah Cooperative Names Officers CARL LUNDELL Carl Lundell of Spanish Fork was elected president of Utah's largest farm cooperative Saturday Satur-day at the annual meeting of the Utah Poultry and Farmer's Cooperative Co-operative at the Hotel Utah. Other officers elected included D. O. Roberts of Henefer, first vice president; Leroy R. Koyle of Spanish Fork, second vice-president, vice-president, and Theron M. Campbell Camp-bell of Providence, third vice-president. vice-president. H. M. Blackhurst- Salt Lake was named as trdLJ urer and general manager, and C. K. Ferre of Salt Lake will continue as secretary and assistant as-sistant general manager. Mr. Lundell succeeds Jesse W. Spafford of American Fork as president of Utah's largest farm co-op. Lundell, Spafford and Koyle were all named to three-year three-year terms on the board of directors. di-rectors. Hold over directors include: J. Arza Adams of Pleasant Grove; Alton S. Gadd of Nephi; Ken-drick Ken-drick Harward of Richfield; Vernon Ver-non Jensen of Preston, Idaho; E. Smith Peterson of Salina, and William H. Schorr, West Jordan. Mr Blackhurst pointed out the past year or two as "extremely "ex-tremely difficult for Utah poj trymen and turkey growers." (3 also reported, "These last few months have been much better than a year ago, particularly in the sale of eggs." He pointed out that increased demand on the local market had eliminated the need for shipping eggs out of the state. "In fact, we had to import some twelve carloads the past year to take care of our local needs," he reported. The convention was attended by more than 600 members from all parts of Utah and southern Idaho. It was one of the best attended at-tended conventions in several years. |
