Show Utahns Prepare To Launch Freedom Crusade Utahns will be given an opportunity oppor-tunity next month to contribute to the campaign which fights Communist propaganda with the truth. The Crusade for Freedom, as the campaign is known, will be conducted during the month of February for funds to support the year-around operations of Radio Free Europe. With a network of 29 powerful transmitters, Radio Free Europe beams the truth from the free world to the 70,000,000 enslaved peoples of Poland, Hungary, Romania Ro-mania and Bulgaria. Voluntary contributions of "truth dollars" from the American Ameri-can people in response to the annual an-nual appeal of the Crusade of Freedom makes possible the continuation con-tinuation of these broadcasts. To focus public attention on this vital anti-Communist program, pro-gram, Gov. George D. Clyde, as honorary state chairman of the Crusade, has designated February Febru-ary as Freedom Month in Utah. State chairman is C. D. Mi-chaelson, Mi-chaelson, general manager of Kennecott Copper Corporation. Mrs. Belle S. Spafford is continuing contin-uing as vice chairman. In his proclamation Gov. Clyde urged Utahns to "help combat Communist tyranny and further the cause of freedom and pea? by contributing generously (J) the Crusade for Freedom." w Theme of this year's campaign is "Freedom is Not Free." |
