Show Fish-Game Board Lengthens Season The Utah Fish and Game Commission, Com-mission, in its regular winter quarterly meeting last weekend, gave Utah sportsmen their longest long-est fishing season in many years. The 1958 general angling season, sea-son, set last year to begin June 7, will close on November 15 on all except seven waters in Duchesne, Morgan, Rich, and Wasatch counties, where special regulations will apply. Other actions covering the regulations reg-ulations governing the general angling season for 1958 saw the commission making some major changes. Fishing hours have been lengthened by one hour over the previous years, from 4:00 a.m. through 9:00 p.m., daily. All size limits were removed on both game and non-game fish, making it legal to take a limit of trout measuring 6 inches. Several more waters were made open to year round fishing, some of which were all waters in Cache County west of highway high-way 91; Clear Lake; Goshen Creek; Howell Reservoir; Locomotive Loco-motive Springs; Provo River upstream up-stream to Geneva Road; Nine Mile Reservoir; Palisades Lake; all waters in Tooele County and Sevier River proper, including East Fork below Otter Creek Reservoir, and the entire West Fork including Asay Creek. In addition, all waters open to year round fishing were opened to fishing on a 24-hour a day basis. Bag and possession limits will remain generallyt he same as for last year. The game fish classification classi-fication of trout, salmon, grayling, gray-ling, bass and pike were broken, making it possible for anglers to take a limit of trout, salmon or grayling and another limit of bass and pike in any one day. All general and special regulations regula-tions included in the annual angling an-gling proclamation will be published pub-lished at a later date and will be available in reprint form from both department offices and license li-cense vendors over the state.
