Show DEATH OF DAVID CANNON-i CANNON-i A Cablegram Received Announcing Ilia Death in Si less! a. David Henry noagland Cannon, & son of George Q. Cannon, of the first presidency of the Mormon church, died in Silejsia. Prussia, Prus-sia, this morning at 9 o'clock. The first in-timation in-timation that the family had that he had even been seriously ill was the receipt this morning of a cablegram from the president of the Swiss and German mission mis-sion at Berne, Switzerland, which stated that he had been informed of his death, but the cause was not stated. David, who was a full brother of John Q., editor of the Deseret A'eiex, and Abram II. Cannon, one of the apostles, attained his majority last April and being a zealous memt.cr of the church, was dispatched on missionary ser-Tice ser-Tice to Germany. Never in the enjoyment of very irood health, it is belieTed that his zeal in the good cause caused him to overtax over-tax his strength. His letters of late have beeu of a most encouraging en-couraging nature, but his father had again and again cautioned him to care for himse.f, I and the sudden announcement of his death has been a great shock to the members of the family. Hush J., a half brother, shared his missionary labors, and is believed to have been with him when he was summoned j hence. The family have cabled to have the remains re-mains embalmed and forwarded to this city for interment. - |
