Show FLASHES FROM THE WIRES. Near Murray, Ky., yesterday, a thresher boiler exploded, killing Albert Seaman the engineer, and wounding ten other persons, three fatally. Lieutenant-Colonel William F. Drum of the Twelfth infantry, died suddenly at Fort Yates, S. p.. last night Colonel Drum was a native o New York, and served with distinction dis-tinction throughout the civil war. An unknown negro attempted to assault two highly respectable white women in one day near Birmingham, Ala. The fiend was surrounded in a swamp near Jasper, Walker county, aud was riddled with bullets. Hungarians, Italians and Slaves employed in the mines at Laurel, Ohio, celebaated the Fourth by a drunken riot. Forty men were injured; some very seriously. A building build-ing was demolished. More trouble is anticipated. an-ticipated. An effort is being made to unite the democratic demo-cratic and people's parties in Iowa by giving the people the electoral ticket and the democrats dem-ocrats the state ticket. The object is to help to throw the election in the house which would elect Cleveland. About 1 o'clock this morning a mob proceeded pro-ceeded to the Vicksburg, Miss., jail and took out Smith Tooley and John L. Adams (colored) and hanged them. Before stringing string-ing them up the men were taken to the court room and given a brief examination. At Bluffton, Ohio, yesterday Mrs. Jessie Carret made an ascension aud attempted to descend with a parachute from a great altitude. alti-tude. The parachute failed to properly expand ex-pand until near the ground and Mrs. Carret descended with frightful rapidity into the lake and was drowned. Anthony K. Craig of Dubuque. la., brought his wife home from an insane asylum asy-lum Saturday night and nothing was seen of either until last night when the police entered en-tered the house and found both lying dead Dn a bed. Craig had killed his wife and himself. Cause unknown. Constable J. F. Green, Brighani Grissom tnd Bob Bell were killed in a fight at Clarendon, Claren-don, Tex., yesterday. Green, accompanied by Grisoom and another man, entered a saloon sa-loon where Bell and his brother were. A row immediately began, the outcome of an old feud, and when the fusilade ended the three men named above were dead. The New York Herald's Caracas correspondent corres-pondent says a great engagement took place near that city on July 1st between revolutionists re-volutionists and government troups.
