Grannis, a prominent young Duluth, Minn., attorney, is in the city, and called at the Chamber of Commerce to compare railroad rail-road notes with Secretary Sears today. Hon. David Hutchinson of Pittsburg, Pa., is in the city as the guest of Governor Thomas. Mr. Hutchinson was. one of the founders of the Republican party in Pennsylvania Pennsyl-vania and a delegate to the convention that nominated Fremont in 1S56. He says the sober second thought of Pittsburg workmen is keeping them solid in the old party, in spite of the bad feeling engendered by the Homestead affair. |
