Show MISSOURI DEMOCRATS. They are in Session to Nominate a State Ticket. Jefferson Citt, Mo., July 19. The democratic dem-ocratic state convention for the nomination of governor, lieutenant-governor, treasurer, auditor, secretary of state, attorney-general and railroad commissioner, assembled here today. Five prominent democrats are ready and willing to enter the list against Major William Warner, the republican nominee nom-inee for governor. They are Richard Dal-ton Dal-ton of Kalis county, Wr. J. Stone of Vernon county, James Gibson of Jackson countv Dr. Pope Yeaman of Boone county and s! H. Claycomb of Jasper county. About 250 votes are claimed for Dawson and ltW for Stone, although the Daltonites claim that their candidate will get there on the first ballot. Claycomb's friends say, however say that a dead-lock will result between Stone, Dalton and Gibson, and that either their candidate or Dr. Pope Yeaman will be the compromise candidate. The lieutenant-governorship lieutenant-governorship will go to St. Louis, and Major John B. O'Meara is backed by the solid delegation from that state. For the balance of the ticket it is a free-for-all scramble. |
