The Jury Kinds la Flivor of Franli I'as- - morc Without Leaving lis Bos The Prisoner's Story. Frank hismore is f:ec. Tho young man whose tribulations have cut a wide swath In the columns of the various local and several "foreigu" journals for some time past yesterday told his story to the court and jury and a verdict was entered in his favor. In his own behalf l'asmore testillcd a follows: "I have lived In California for nine years past, and my home is still there. I married Miss Padg-ha-of Ponoma a year ago last October, and was engaged iu tho fruit buying busi-ues- s in California up to last December. On coming to this city 1 met Mr. Vail, who .viis an old acquaintance, and one day I asked him if ho would lutrodtice mo at his bank, telling him that I wished to draw a draft on a Los Angeles bank, and explain-ing that I had no funds there myself, but that my father-in-la- would protect the draft. Mr. Vail introduced me at the bank, aud, at the suggestion of Colonel Douuellan, he endorsed the draft. On the same day i wrote my father-in-law- , notifying him of the draft and telling him to protect it. I certainly expected him to do so, and wa3 surprised when over a week urn Mr. Vail culled on me and said the craft hud been protested. I went with him to the telcgruph ntliee and wired my father. about the matter, and it was not until some days later that I waa arrested. I had six tons of rai-ln- s at Fresno at the time, and mv father-in-la-hail control of them, together with some ac-counts of mine, amounting to about $250. I have drawn on my father-i- law a num-ber of times before, and the drafts were always protected." He was corroborated by others, and, it ap-pearing to the Court that any Intention of committing a wrong was lacking, the jury-foun-a verdict of not guilty without leav-ing the box. It has been a severo and humiliating les-so- u to the defendant, and his friends hope to see him protlt by it. He is a handsome fol-low, has a remsrkablo faculty of making friends and should get aloug in life. Summon.
