Show HANGED BUT STILL ALIVE. Three Doctors Said That He Was Dead, But He is Now Walking Around as Big us Life. New Orleans, April 29. The PicaiHne,s Harriston, Miss., special says: Coleman Blackburn, colored, stands today without a rival for strength of neck. On the 20th iust. he was hanged for murder, aud today was able to walk around the room and converse with friends. After having hanged for thir-tjT-six minutes, and being pronounced dead by three - in;al phvB-iebtiis, the supposed corpse was turned over to his relatives and taken to Franklin county, thirty-five miles distant. While enroute to the burial ground a noise was heard in the coffin, and when it was opened the supposed dead man was found to be breathing. Physicians were summoned, and the patient is now pronounced pro-nounced out of danger. |
