Some of the people claimed that the trustees were extravagant; that the teacher's salary of $6V per month was too much, even if she did have 100 pupils; that the old meeting house was good enough for a school no matter if tho stove did smoke and it was only large enough for fifteen or twenty pupils and the trustees trus-tees had no right to rent a suitable place for a school; while others were of the opinion that the trustees were doing do-ing their duty in every respect. Finally Fin-ally the county superintendent was called in to settle the trouble.
