Show HEATED BY WATER. The Flow of the llolse Hot Springs May Warm the City A Novrl But Seemingly Seem-ingly Practicable Scheme. The following is from the Boise Statesman: If tbe plans of some of the members of the Artesian Hot uud Cold Water company are carried out, Boise will, within a year or two, be the only city In the country heated by means of natural hot water. It is claimed that the water that flows from the hot springs east of the city can he put to this use, and if this proves to be the case, the annual saving In fuel alone will run away up in tho thousands. The experiment has been auccessfully tried in the elegant mansion recently erected for C. V. Moore. By means of pipes of special manufacture tho boilinsj water is" conveyed to and throughout the house, which is considerably over half a mile dis-tant dis-tant from the springs. It is said that the water will retain a great percentage of its natural heat after having flowed through several miles of piping, aud it is aaaartfld that It will perform service equal to that of any hot water system ever devised. It Ib claimed the springs are at au altitude alti-tude suttlcieut to force the water into pipes upon the top floor of au ordinary four or Ave story building. Competent judges say that the natural heating scheme is not only a praotlcabla oue, but Is one that should be encouraged. |
