W,'lls Tells ol the Being MaAe, Chicago Tribune. World's Fair Coin missioncr James M. Wells of Idaho, is in the city making arrange-ments and looking after the details of his state's exhibit. In talking of their plans yesterday he sa'd "Idaho will spend 1100,000 for its World's fair exhibit. Of this amount 90.000 has already been appropriated by the state, and it is expected that the next legislature will make up the balance. In addition to the slate appropriations individual represent! tives of our greatest imlustri.s will devote large sums of money to the display of their several Interests. "In its exhibit at the World's fair Idaho will pay special attention to the mining in. dustry. It may not be generally understood, but the fad remains that tin- slate has con Ubu ted f176,000,000 of money tu gold ami silver to increase the wealth and enrich the commerce of the hind. It pioduces one half the lead product of tin- united Slates, n consideration of these facts a special effort Will be made to have a mining exhibit coin, mensurate with the importance "I the slate as a valuable mineral producer. "Idaho will have a state building peculiar to itself. Recognising the foil of attempt-ing lo compete with the older slates in the erection of the elaborate building, it will oocaatsuct one somewhat rustic iu appear ance, and costing tint less than $15,1100. In this building will appear all the more valua-ble building materials to be found in the stat", including marble, brick and stone. Thus, while not so elaborate in many partic-ulars, it will ba mads an attracttja feature of Idaho's exhibit. The women of the state will assume the responsibility of having it suitably decora'ed. and this will be the only manner in Which they will come into com-petition with others of their sex at the ex-- , position."
