Show - THEY HAVE CONE. The County Court Unwittingly Aids tho Hartmans to Evade an Attachment. About a year ago the Hartmans, consist, ing of the f ather, mother and a daughter, arrived here from Cedorado, and being German Ger-man and musicians soon made the acquaint-anee acquaint-anee of a wide circle of their countrymen here, and became known to the publio through their participation in concerts. They were somewhat Bohemian in their manner of living and possessed the trua Bohemian disregard for financial obligations. It seems that during their stay here they be came indebted to their landlady, Mrs. Edwards, Ed-wards, on First South street, and as she was unable to collect what was due her by the ordinary method of presenting a bill, sho took the matter into court and brought suit. A few days ago, however, the Hartmans made application to the county court for transportation out of Utah, and they were granted the relief sought witli the result that the law has been defeated. An attachment was issued by Commissioner Commis-sioner Norrell on Saturday night on the goods and chattels of the Hartmans, but the latter proved too spry for the minions of the law. The paper was given to Deputy Marshals Parsons and Cherley Gooelsell, who sped first to the apartments vacated by the Bohemians Bo-hemians and then to the Rio Grande depot, just seven minutes after the train had pulled out. The officers at Ogden were notified to stop the Hartmans, but the latter succeeded in running the blockade, a id were finally-stopped finally-stopped at Evanston. It was found that the papers could not be obtained to bring them back, and so they were allowed to continue their journey iA peace. |
