Show Till" Omaha Hcc declares that the insurance in-surance premiums paid in that city amount to double the losses incurred tin re. It believes that rates are too high and has inaugurated a campaign , for a reduction. The claim is made that the protection nlTorded is so effective effec-tive that a reduction should be made. The same claim might also be made for Salt Lake City. The tiro losses here aro certainly very I light, and the city should have all tho ' benefit to which it ig entitled by reason of the effectiveness of its fire depart- nient. It is pos.ii'olo that rates here are as low ns would be warranted but it scarcely seems so. If any roduction would be consistent with good business principles, tho people would appreciate it and the companies 'ould be more thau compensated for it iu increased business. |
