It was convened for the purpose of dovising plans for the reception re-ception and entertainment of the people peo-ple who will arrive today and tomorrow from Colorado. W. C. B. Allen who had been over the line working up the interest in tho matter, reported "that some 2100 of the best people of the Centennial state were journeying toward to-ward this city. They come from nearly every town aud comprise minors mi-nors and merchants, capitalists and politicians. Many would probably bring along gold and Bilver simaleons which they would invest in property of various kinds. Some come with the intention of seeing what opportunities and inducements were to be fou.id here for making homes. It was therefore proper that they be extended every courtesy." Jake Bamberger moved that the attention at-tention of the president of the stock ex-ange ex-ange be called to the matter and that aaavtbe liree) to appeftnt a committee to oo-oprrate with a similar one from the real estate exchange. For himself he promised a complimentary excursion to tho Hot Springs. A committee of five was appointed by the real estate exchange whose duty would be to meet the trains, ascertain tho number of the excursionists, and to act jointly in all matters with the committee com-mittee of the slock exchange. A programme pro-gramme of entertainment will be arranged ar-ranged later on. The suggestions made were: A trip to the lake, a complimentary compliment-ary concert, and other features not yet decided. |
