The milling business at La Plata is now assuming proper proportious. A sale of the Sundown has been etl'ected and work on develop-ment has begun in earnest. Logan parties have purchased a t wo thirds in-terest in the claim for $15,000, and the first payment has been made. The Ja Plata company has shipped several tons of ore from which returns will be had this week. Park City mining men are working tiie Sunrise and have several tons of ore ready for shipment. The Mountain View cloim. owned by II. C. Vardleigh of Ogden, is being worked. 2t continues to show a finer quality of steel galena with each day's develop-opmen- t. The La Pello mine, owned by several Ogden citi.uiis, has a shaft of twenty feut completed. A large boulder of galena, from this claim is now on exhibition at the Atlas saloon. Tom lialler is at work developing his claims and the reports from that mine are more favorable every day. W. II. Wallace and W. II. Lett are running the old Deep Creek stags line between Ogden and La Plata and also from La Plata to Logan. They make good time and passengers ara well pleased with the new line. Neither of tho roads are yet completed, but men are at work on both tho Ogden and Logan routes. Ono genuine old time prospecting outfit was noticed leaving Ogden on Saturday evening. Two men were fitted up with bedding, provisions, cooking utensils, tobacco and tools. These were carried by a pack horse, while the men were afoot, one of them leading the horse. They were prepared to prospect where-eve- r they saw fit. Although a great many claims have been staked olf there are more finds reported almost every every day. Mrs. Wiison, a lady who bus been keeping a boarding house in Logan for the past eighteen months, died yesterday.
