Show THE COUNTY JUDGES. An Order Made for the Disposal of Monies Due the Inllrmary Contractor. At the meeting of the county court this morning the difficulty oer the construction of the new county Infirmary building was revived. Contractor Benson having refused to accept the amount tendered by the court, the money was disposed of through the following fol-lowing resolution: V'hkrkas, On November 51, 1H01, the court appropriated ap-propriated f 44W.UI) in full for the cisfnis of I). P. Benson agnlnst Salt Lake county for work upon the inlirmnrv as per contract, anti tho clerk drew hi warrant for that amount, but said linnson has refused to accept Mtid warrant, it is ordered that the treasurer of falt Luke county pay the saitl warrant to C. E. Allen, county clerk, anil that the clerk upon payment being made deposit the same to his account a county clerk to be paid to l. P. IJenson upon Ills acceptance of wild amount as payment in full for all claims against the county for work dune upon the infirmary as per contract for said work. The resignation of the superintendent of construction on the new infirmary building, J. C. Dowlin, was received and accepted. Mr. Dowlin had put in his claim for services up to December 1st, but it was not allowed. Operations were suspended on the new county infirmary building some time ago, and since November 10th Mr. Dowlin has been emploved on the city and county Joint building, the matter of Mr. Dowliu's compensation com-pensation was referred to the county attorney, at-torney, who reported in favor of paying him by the month up to tho time the work was suspended and after that time to be paid a reasonable amount for any other services rendered by him to the eouuty. Sheriff Hurt was directed to procure a ticket to Kansas City for John C. Barton, an indigent invalid, and to furnish him with f3 to purchase bis meals en route. After several sev-eral small routine matters were disposed of tho court adjourned. |
