Show Theke is an utter lack of harmony of sentiment among the democrats of Ohio on the silver plank of their platform plat-form adopted in tho state convention at Cleveland a week ago. Some of the leading politicians of the state are violently vio-lently opposed to it and are donounesa, it openly; others are not at ail pleased because they were made to accept it. Holding such opinions, it is difficult to see how the party can go to the peopla standing on such a platform and ask for their iu Tragus. It looks as if the timo was fast coming com-ing when the most of the work in mines will be done by electricity. The improvements im-provements which havo been made in eljetrical machinery used for mining have been most wonderful. How strange it would seem to see the great hoisters and pumps ou the Ontario run by electricity generated by the wator which runt out of the tunnels; still that may bo possible. |
