The letter which recently appeared in tho 2Vr-UnH-ikc 'Vrei;oV of Copenhagen, in which Prince ( ieorge of Greece give a detailed account of the attack mad" on the czarowitch by a Japanese policeman police-man has g-eatly altered the estimates which was at lirst formed here of the prince's action upon that- occasion and has been tho means of placing him in terrible disgrace in this city. Tho reason rea-son for this altered feeling entertained for the prince is the fact that he cause'' to be published his own account of the attack upon Czarewitch without previously pre-viously submitting the manuscr'pt for revision. It. is considered here that the story told by Prince George emphasizes certain rumors that the czarowitch did not exhibit much bravery brav-ery in running away when he was attacked. at-tacked. Particular "offense is taken at the statement in the prince's published letter that af'er the czarwiich had been struck aud while he was endeavoring to make his escape from his assailant, he tumbled to the ground through sheer fright. |
