Show Hannfaetar of Gftuxe, In the ordinary processes of the loom the warp threads are always kept parallel paral-lel in whatever way the weft thread may be twisted aronnd them. But in making gauze two adjoining warp threads are completely twisted aronnd each other between the two rows of the shuttle or casts of the weft Some peculiar pe-culiar appendages of the loom are required re-quired to effect this. One consequence of the mode of interlacing is that the texture is light, the welt threads being further apart than would be practical in other webs. In appearance, as well as in mode of producing, gauze occupies kind of medium position between plain weaving and plain lace or bobinet. New York Telegram. |
