Father Halligan, pastor of St Mary's Ma-ry's Catholic church of Pawtucket, will use his influence against the re-election of Hugh Carroll, one of his parishoners, as mayor. Rev. Father Halligan issued a sort of pronunciaraento forbidding all Catholics to take part, in the exercises exer-cises of Sunday school day during cotton cot-ton centennay week on the ground that communicants in the Romish church could not rightfully participate with Protestants in religions exercises. Mayor Carroll, on the occasion, however, how-ever, considered his official duty as paramount to the request of his spiritual spirit-ual adviser and carried put the part assigned as-signed him on the programme. He delivered de-livered an address on Sunday school day and participated with Protestants in the exercises. : A notice signed by Father Halligan has been read at all masses, in which ha says: ' ' -' "Well, the cotton eenteneial has come and gone.
