She had a numerous retinue of her loyal subjects iu her train and was grouted most lovingly by those who reside in this part of her dominions. A short timo after her majesty's ma-jesty's arrival, au attache of Tub Times waited upon her to solicitously inquire if her journey had fatigued her, or if she had any commands for her dutiful followers hero. Ho was most graciously accorded an audienco by the queen, who informed in-formed him that so much hud boon donn for lier comfort and enterlainnient during dur-ing her sojourn here that her capricious fancy could suggest nothing further. She found this beautiful little Eden, enjoying peace and prosperity, and expressed ex-pressed a desire and intention to have her royal chambeiian instructed in tho near future to build her two palaces, one on Capitol hill, and tho other a delicate del-icate bamboo affair as a summer residence resi-dence on tbo wave kissed shores of Church island. Queen Minerva I is really Mis Minerva Min-erva Anderson, now of Ogden, but formerly of California. She is a production of which that state may well feel proud. She is reallv a golden girl, htr glorious hair falling about her like a waterfall of stinbeams.and a form that the Vonus de Milo might gaze on in rapture and admiration. Miss Anderson is a daughter of G. Andorsou, president of the Ogden Pressed Brick Co., and is a full cousin of the divine Marv. "Our Mary" once, but now. alas! Navaros' Mary. The Queen much resembles her talented tal-ented cousin, and like her possesses a great amount of dramatio talent, and has had frequent offers of princely inducements in-ducements to go on the stage, which she always declined to consider, preferring pre-ferring to maintain her position of a society so-ciety belle and queen. Her Majesty was decorated last night by Hex (Major H. P. Walmsley of New Orleans) with the order of trio White Dove emblem of plenty and peace. At the conclusion of the interview ber Majesty decorated the "attache" with a large green frog and gave him the title of "Duke of the Quill." Miss Anderson will remain here a few days on this visit. Like everybody else she has always kept "an eye ou Thk Times." |
