Tho finance , committee of the s into have agreed to report the tinanc'a bill introduced yesterday yes-terday by Sherman. The chairman of the committee, Senator Morrill, opposed some propositions contained in the bill, and reserved the right to vote for the restoration of tho 2 per cent bond clause, when tho bill is considered in the senate. Senator Iliscock reserved the right to vote against that part of the proposition relative to supplying the deficiency of national bank circulation, circula-tion, which proposes to authorize author-ize an issue of original treasury notes therefore in silvrr bullion cannot lie purchased. As for I he democrat dem-ocrat members of tho committee they reserved the ri rht to oppose the w hole bill, inasmuch as they hid had no proper opportunity to examine it. but consented to report the measure. The absentees at the meeting were Senators Aldrich, and Jones of Nevada. |
