The Salvation Army is puzzling the police authorities at Hutte. They ilou't know what to do with it. The Montana Bomb, the alleged or-gan of the Montana prohibitionists, is to bo moved to Boeman. The latest addition to Montana's list of newspapers is the Townsend Mes-senger, and J. C. Kerley is the editor and proprietor. The Helena bankers had themselves simultaneously interviewed on Thurs-day by both the morning dailies of tho temporary capital, and are profuse in their assurances that they are all pos-sessed of more money than they know what to do with. IDAHO NOTES. Oi'ur d' Alone Times: By actual count during the week, it was ascer-tained that since January 1, 11)0, two churches, twenty-on- e business houses and forty-si- x residences have been erected in this city. Many more resi-dences and business buildings are in course of const ruction at the present time, two of which arc being put up of brick and stone. Numerous other buildings are contemplated, and will probably be commenced this winter. With all this there is not one vacant building in tho city, t 'Wm. Wood, sr., of Minersville is ap- - l ' pointed as postmaster at that place j, vice J. II. Dupaix, who had resigned. The new depot building at Milford is quite an ornate affair, compared with i' the old station house that was burned I down. I Dick Rogers, for discharging a pistol into a train and wounding a lady, was j sentenced by Judge Blackburn at Ogdcu I to six years in the pen. j Last Tuesday night tho votes of San I Pete county, for the changing of frlie I county seat, were counted and resulted in favor of Manti, which will remain the county seat still. This city had sixteen votes more than Mr,. Pleasant. Thistlo did not vote. Mount Pleasant is a live agricultural, horticultural and slock raising city. The citizens, true to primitive Utah in-stincts, live in the city and on their farms, the dwelling houses being a biock apart, tho intervening space hav-ing been planted in fruit and shade trees aud tilled for the production of garden vegetables. COLORADO NOTES. At Gunnison last week the thermome-ter reached eighteen degrees below zero. The grand jury of Bio Grande county has found a true bill against Editor of the Monte Vista Graphic. Pueblo is fearing the pruning knife of Harrison veto. Their public build-iu-may yet go the way of many others. According to the Pueblo Kvening Star, since tho big democratic victories this fall, confederate money begins to circulate quite freely in Pueblo. Tho Trinidad Advertiser sayo: Trini-- I dad presents the best Held in the coun try for the location of a glass factory. It is not necessary to go outside tho conuty for a single thing needed in the manufacture of glass. According to Insgector Comstock Colorado is already well up in her honey industry. Colorado honey is shipped to all the principal eastern cities, even so far east as New York, where it out sells all other. Tho Meeker Herald is informed that the sheep men propose "to invade" the range in the northwestern part of Bio Blanco county, and enters an emphatic protest against it. It acknowledges that before the law sheep havo as good a right on the range as have cattle, but adds that the cattle men were there first. NEVADA NOTES. Carson Tribune: An increasingly noticeable feature of transportation over the V. & T. railroad from the (inarries in Inyo county is the regular daily passing along of carloads of white marble, in blocks of all sizes, through Carson to Ileno and the marble works at Essex, on the Truckee river. Pinche Record: The family of T. (1. Thompson, the man for the killing of STOLE A MARCH. THE HOT SPRINCS LINE CATCHES THE RAPID TRANSITNAPPING. Anil a Fleros Struggle For Supremacy Be-gin, on Writ Third Htreot Recent Killing Inspire Change of Tactics. The coup that was made on Friday last by the Salt Lake City Railroad company, and which put the Great Salt Lake and Hot Springs railroad in temporary chancery at least, was an action that in all probability opened the eyes of the latter company, who have taken possession of Third West street to the chagrin of the Salt Lake Rapid Transit company. This drags the triangle into hostilities that have been waging for some time and adds another chapter to tho tight. In the first instance the Salt Lake City line marched its forces to the Deseret hos-pital corner where it began laying steel rails, to the discomfiture of its rival. This, as already reported in these col-umns, was the result of recent rulings by Judge Zano that three tracks would not be tolerated on a single street public safety and convenience, in fact, opposed it. This put the carriers on their metal and franchises having been issued to the Bapid Transit and Hot Springs, lines alike, the latter at once arranged to surprise the enemy. A large amount of track material having been collected for the. Coup d'etat, the Hot Springs people quietly entered the field late Monday and began to bed its ties. Then came the Bapid Transit with a counter coup and began to spike rails on the virgin tie, maintaining that they were in possession of tho right-of-wa-and by virtue of a franchise had a right to attack all tresspasses. A half block of steel had been laid before tho Bapid Transit amended their tactics and called off its forces. In the meantime the Hot Springs people screwed up their energies and track is still being laid. Tho nffair is quite complicated and should the companies bo unable to agree on some compromise pronosition will doubtless go into the courts'. They have been in consultation and as the position of the court with reference to the issue is very positively defined law suits may be regarden "as somewhat superfl nous. Connver llros. Piano Cheap.
