A great demonstration under the auspices of the Bradford liberal unionist association asso-ciation was held today. Lord Wen-lock Wen-lock the president who presided in bis address said that tho narrow escape of tho government from defeat on tho public house question, had aroused the country as was evident from the size and enthusiasm of the gathering he had the honor to address. Ho urged the conservatives and liberal unionists to hold meetings all over the country so as to give moral support lo their representatives repre-sentatives in parliamcul. Ho did not apprehend an early dissolution of parliament par-liament notwithstanding the prophesies of Gladstone and Paraell. lie would not look for the occurrence of that event until the autumn of 1801. and then only if there shou:d be a good harvest har-vest and If tho budget should bo satisfactory satis-factory to the country. lie was eonli-dent eonli-dent that the budget would be all that could bo required. |
