There is a passenger on the trains be-tween Wilmington and Philadelphia whose eccentrio conduct is beginning to cause the conductors to wonder who she is and what her business may be. She is quite a handsome young person, more than 25 years of age, well dressed and perfectly proper in her demeanor. For the past six or seven months she has come to the city four or fire times a week, usually on tne Penn-sylvania railroad, but occasionally on the Baltimore and Ohio. She is alwaysalone at the Wilmington depots, takes what-ever seat may be most convenient in the car, and, so far as the trainmen have ob-served, has never spoken to anybody. On arriving in the city, whether "it be at Broad street station or the Baltimore and Ohio depot, she goes into the ladies' waiting room, sits there perhaps an hour or two, but sometimes half the day, and then takes a return train to Wilmington. She never seems to be looking for any one or to have gone outside the station during the time between trains. Oarnot had the tact to wear a coronet of cameos, hoping to stimulate the taste for these ornaments and assist the workers in gem cutting, who were in distress. Having some beautiful cameos which had been given the "Grand Carnot," she had her coilfeur design a charming head ornament, which she wore with great effect. The stones were set in artistic gold frames and con-nected with fine chains to form a dia-dem, which proved to be not only hand-some and becoming, but had the desired effect of calling the attention of the pub-lic to the beautiful art which had been languishing for some time, and already we see the cameo worn again as brooches and hair ornaments. Boston Record. Again the Jersey. With the reappearance of Mrs. Laug-tr- y in London will come the jersey, of course., You may depend upon that. I am already notified by my house that there is a slight boom in. the jersey. It will not be, as I understand it, exactly the jersey which Mrs. Langtry first in-troduced. The Medici collar, which used to be worn, will not be seen, but in its stead the Marie Antoinette collar. If you insist on your dressmaker fac-ing your gowns with velvet or velveteen instead of braid, you will lessen your shoemaker's bills and be saved from the purple blemish on the instep caused by the movements of the skirts in walking. When buttons come off don't hunt up old shoes and use the shabby buttons, but invest five cents in a card of shining black beauties, and have them ready for emergencies. One old button spoils the style of a shoe. Ladies' Home Journal.
