The City Fathers are Iuspectlng a Troublesome Trouble-some Grade, A number of the city council men dragged themselves . wearily to First North street this afternoon to make a personal examination of the grade made in tho viciuity of the residence resi-dence of K. N. Baskin. In a communication com-munication to tho council Mr. Baskin Bas-kin claims that tho grade works "a wanton and unnecessary injury to his Eossessions, not required or demanded y the public interest." ". Mr. Baskin after suggesting a way out of what he considers "a glaring outrage" out-rage" says: "Your predecessors in office established estab-lished the grade of this street, a record of which is in the city surveyor's office. The grade so established, I am informed, in-formed, unlike the present one, was rational and just and such as to fully meet tho demands of the public interest. inter-est. The injury so unnecessarily inflicted in-flicted by the grade now being made, is of such a character that no payment of money can compensate.
