X Mrs. Arvela Love is visiting for two weeks with friends in Cornish, Utah. Mrs. Joseph Freer of Burlcy, Ida is spending the week with relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Bone of Salt Lake spent the past week-end with Mr. Bone's parents, Mr. and Hri. Frank Bone. Mr. and Mrs. George Blake, Sr., returned Tuesday from a week's fishing trip to Yellowstone park. Mrs. Ellen Sandall wa3 honored Sunday afternoon on her eighty-sixth eighty-sixth birthday by members of her family, her grandchildren, greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren and friends. About seventy-five of her kin met for a pleasant afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Ware. Miss Vera Layton entertained at dinner at the home of her father, George W. Layton, on Tuesday of last week in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Layton, of Arizona, who have been visiting relatives in Lay-ton Lay-ton for the past week. The guests also included were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bone and Mr. and Mrs. John Blood of Kaysvill Mr. and Mrs. Henry Flint, Mr.and Mrs. Ruben Kilfoyle. Electricians were kept busy for several days the first of the week putting the electrical lines in condition con-dition which had been put out by the storm Saturday night. Practically Practi-cally the whole system in East Layton was "shot". Miss Clea Clark of Ogden spen,t the week-end with Miss Carcell Dawson at the home of Mrs. William Wil-liam Young. and daughter, Cleone and Miss Ar-lene Ar-lene Smedley returned Friday from a ten-d:i' trip to Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Zesiger of Weiscr, Idaho, were visitors here this week. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Layton had as their dinner guests, Monday, Mr and Mrs. E. B. Fuller and son, Frank, and Mrs. Douglas Pincock and two children, of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Thornton of Des Moines, Iowa, left for their home Monday, after a ten days visit with Mr3. Thornton's mother, Mrs. Maude Walker. There will be a double header game at the local park this Sunday Sun-day between Layton and Devils Slide. Both games are Utah-Wyoming league games. The first game Sunday is scheduled to begin at 2 p. m. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ellison of Cardston, Alberta, Canada, are visiting friends and relatives here. William Ramsey and granddaughter, grand-daughter, Neta Ramsey, and daugh ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Asher of Salt Lake spent last week at Colorado Springs, Colo rado, visiting with relatives. Mrs. John A. W7hitesides and daughter, Merle, of Burley, Ida., were vistors here this week. Mr. and Mrs. Othelo Craig and children of Oakland, Calif., are visiting here with Mr. Craig's mother, Mrs. J. D. Craig. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Walquist are the proud parents of a daughter. This is their first child. Mrs. Walquist Wal-quist will be remembered as Miss Lucille Green-Mrs. Green-Mrs. Stanley Ellison and daughter daugh-ter are expecting to leave Saturday Satur-day for their home in Nevada. Mrs. Ellison was brought here for an appendix operation. Mr. Morris H. Ellison is here on business, from his home at Van LAYTON Mr. and Mrs. Eldredge Smith are rejoicing over the arrival of a son born last Friday. Mrs. Smith was Miss Elaine Williams before her marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Bennett left last Sunday for a vacation trip through Yellowstone National park. Kent Day, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Day and David Sandall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Len Sandall underwent under-went an operation for the removal of their tonsils, Wednesday evening. even-ing. Mr. and Mrs. Max Morgan and baby daughter and Beaumont Par-rish, Par-rish, who have spent the past two years at Tacoma, Wash., are visiting visit-ing with relatives for two weeks. John H. Thornley was operated on Monday for a goiter at the Dee hospital in Ogden. Mrs. R. G. Watt of Tremonton is visiting with her daughters, Mrs. O. Keith Adams, Mrs. Royal C. Robins and Mrs. Melvin J. Wood. Mrs. Albert Garrick and children Eva May and Junior left for their home at Albuquerque, Nex Mexico Thursday, after spending two months with Mr. and Mrs. George Blake, Jr. Jabez Adams and son, David, |
