Superintendent were appointed to serve on the committee A committee of parents from rom Syracuse se and Mrs Clearfield-Mrs Knighton ton Mrs White Mrs Fisher Fish Fish- er cr Mrs Beazer eazer Mrs Walker Valker and Mrs Williams met with the board to ask that band instruction be given in their school twice each week instead of once and to ask that uniforms be provided for the high school band A petition signed sign sign- signed ed by parents of Syracuse and Clearfield expressing these desires was seas filed with the board Superintendent Burton Durton thought there Js is danger in overdoing this one special subject in the schools and that the present arrangement is sufficient for or a balanced curri- curri curriculum culum On motion o of Mr Dibble the matter was taken under advise men t released so that he be might m ight height accept a position in the Salt Lake City schools and explained that it meant chance for quite an advancement to Mr Lamb to be released at this time Mr Parrish moved that he he be released Mr Van Fleet seconded the motion which was unanimously carried Superintendent Burton urton reported that the lie state school basket ball tournament would begin on Wed Wed- Wednesday at the Deseret gymnasium that the Davis Dais team will have its first game that afternoon with Manti anti and that Davis high close on that afternoon to attend the initial game of its
