interested in the B W tells the sun that development work is 18 progressing steadly steadily in thy mine anti and that lat the management never before felt so confident of its future no shipments of ore have been made for some time because the e property is undergoing a thorough exploitation the 13 W H is meeting every ery expectation everything points to 0 t the h e fact that it is going to become one of the big producing mines an the mountain park record norman mclane who had charge of the west quincy during the season of active operations there was in cami cam last sunday and spent the west quiney quincy thomp thoad son coalition will very probably be effected it is the intention to develop the thompson through the daly judge if possible and negotiations for a satisfactory arrangement are pending the west quincy is considered an altogether too promising a prospect to lie idle except when conditions make it absolutely necessary moab times phil grout crout went to miners yet to finish their surveying richfield reaper M F murray accompanied by his wife and daughter was on the train friday for the gold development company properties on gold mountain mr murray stated that the work is being pushed along in both the franklin and L N tunnels running ground has been encountered in the franklin which had arrested progress some but it is being caught up without any great trouble A recent rain storm sent a flood down the gulch to the mouth of the tunnel and disabled the compressor for a couple of days but it is in good working order again the change in the franklin tunnel is looked upon very indicating proximity to the ho hopefully as mineral domain for which the tunnel is now heading american fork citizen the big stockholders in the silver flat are dreaming r of immense bank accounts from the sale of ore taken from that property for several years this property has been under investigation of mining men as containing molybdenum which is a very rare and valuable ore different parties have tried to get a lease on the strength of showing made and it seems seem s the company have recently discovered this the miners began to look for this ore about three weeks ago and alid according to our informant who is one of the directors they are now taking it out in quantities sufficient to make its stockholders rich molybdenum is worth over 2000 per ton and if the operators of that company are not mistaken in the metal they no doubt have cause for rejoicing bingham bulletin work on the ohio copper co s properties is to be rushed to completion it is expected that the first 2000 ton unit of the mill will be ready to begin operations in november which will increase the present output a dozen times and when the second section is completed in may next the output will be 25 times as great as at present the latest figures show that the ohio ores can be mined and put into the concentrator for 75 cents a ton as soon as they can be run directly into th mills from the mines by means of electric cars through the mascotte tunnel which will be in operation early in 1908 the ohio ores concentrate 15 tons to one making a product of more than 20 per cent of copper at a cost of less than 50 cents to the ton under such conditions the ohio should make its copper for less than 6 cents a pound with ore bodies bodies sufficient to last for generations mammoth record fred scott and jas crosby have returned from a respecting trip in the columbia mining district about thirty five miles west of tintic gintic this is one of the old districts of the state find and several good properties have been opened up scott and crosby located a group of four claims and brought back some samples that would make any old prospectors pec tors mouth water assays essays from one vein show 50 per cent lead and 22 ounces of silver from the grass roots just before starting back they discovered a ledge of copper ore which is practically a new product of that district and the assay returns ran from 0 3 1 to 29 ounces copper As it is only twelve miles from the railroad and the values average from 50 to a ton the find is an excellent one the fortunate discoverers will return to the property in a short hort time to do some development work to ascertain the extent of the vein castle dale progress the welson nelson brothers john and joseph who iu ht
