Show THE RIDGE AND VALLEY reporter eureka utah that the ridge and valley property to the north of eureka is to be worked through the gemini mine is now assured in fact we have learned from a thoroughly reliable source that this work has already been commenced for some time past it has been generally understood that the large bodies of high grade ore in the northern workings of the gemini extended into ridge and valley ground and in view of the fact that the control of the latter stock is owned by people who are also the beav heaviest est ow owners in the G gemini emini it is only natural that arrangements should be made for the opening up of the ridge and valley territory and now that the proper arrangements ha have V e been made it will mean that these ore bodies are to be followed still further to the north and within a very short time the ship ment of ore from the ridge and valley will be commenced at the present time this work is being done in the drifts from the 1400 and 1500 levels and naturally it will be extended to the other parts of the mine several years ago the ridge and valley mining company whose holdings consist or of about acres of ground just north of and adjoining the gemini installed a hoisting plant and began exploration work A shaft was put down to a depth of over feet and a great deal of prospecting was done upon the various levels but later the mine was closed down on account of the inability of the stockholders to agree upon points involved in the management of the property the new ridge and valley officers are as follows IV R wallace president J C mcchrystal vice president henry J wallace secretary and treasurer and these w with ith J H mcchrystal and mrs sarah A mcchrystal constitute the board of directors the announcement that the section of ground owned by this company is to be explored as stated above will be good news indeed to the people who are anxious to see the big ore zone which has made the older mines of eureka famous followed into that vast section to the north of this camp edep the first shipment of ore from the ridge and valley valley mine it is believed will be sent out within a week or ten days superintendent jackson mcchrystal of the gemini mine who years ago favored the sinking of the ridge and valley shaft to the 1000 or 1500 foot levels because he realized the great possibilities the ground held in store at that depth is highly elated over the present arrangements which will enable him to demonstrate the correctness of his theory |
