Show THE BUNKER HILL MINE A dispatch from wardner idaho says the great kellogg tunnel of the bunker hill sullivan mine after proceeding over two miles has broken into the wonderful ore body uncovered in nos 7 and 8 tunnels in was only during the past few days that this ore body was reached and it will be some time before its extent is known but it will undoubtedly be as enormous and rich as in the workings above there is probably no silver lead mine in the country anat can equal the ore bodies disclosed in the bunker hill sullivan during the past year on no 7 which is feet above the kellogg tunnel on the e dip of the vein the was feet long and in one place feet wide this was at a depth of over 2000 feet on the dip of the vein the ore body is encountered in the kellogg tunnel at a depth of between 2600 and feet on the dip of the vein which is at 45 degrees no 7 is feet above no 8 and the latter feet above no 9 the kellogg tunnel the tremendous body of ore averages about 15 per cent in lead and from seven to eight ounces in silver the prospects of the mine are now brighter than at any period in its wonderful history for the recent strikes are positive proof that it will be a great producing mine for many years to come the ore bodies recently disclosed are the largest since the opening up of the mine the bunker hill has the advantage over the other properties of the district in that it has been opened up at its present depth by tunnels while the others to obtain a like depth have been forced to sink when the bunker hill has mined the ore above the long tunnel which will require a number of years sinking can be commenced in the lower workings of the mine |
