Show 0 o re r s made in ocafon stockton mine development J I 1 ahe y HE mining review has often made the r statement that no matter how favorable surface indications may be it always takes from three to five years to transform a I 1 meritorious prospect into a paying and pro educing educing mine those who have kept tab on mine develop ment will bear the I 1 review out in this statements which holds good in t the h e j case of the stockton S gold mining mill ling jing company of this ils city whose property is located in sol dier bridge c canyon a n y 0 n inear stockton county this estate state y for nearly three thre e years past the stockton aton mine under the jable management of J J has been energetically i and intelligently de ve loped many thou sands of dollars have been expended in its jex and equipment and to amany almany the time between the develop ament ent and producing I 1 in the e opera ion on of the mine has seemed long and tiresome tow ow however the time has arrived it is confidently believed when the efforts of tie e company will be rewarded as the mine now so thoroughly opened and prospected atiat at it is only a question of a short time beare re the receipts from regular ore shipments will usher in an era of prosperity that will relegate to the shades of the past the months and years when it was all outgo out go and no income with those interested in this promising 11 property and who have stuck to the management through thick and thin during the stage of its exploitation A representative of the mining review made a visit to the stockton mine in august last since then so many changes have been made in the way of surface improvement and equipment that the place was hardly recognizable while corresponding development has been made in iii the mine workings 13 in the way of machinery equipment an 80 horsepower boiler has been added to the power efficiency of the plant a 10 horsepower engine has been installed for the operation of the blower a six drill leyner air compressor has displaced the two drill plant and a horsepower hoisting engine will take the 7 4 AF z 14 ma 7 0 M eight abot of ore on the lewel bevon mine place of the 25 horse power hoist now in use within the next thirty or sixty days while the shaft and hoist house have been considerably enlarged in addition the company has put in a pipeline feet in length which connects with the west argent ardent mine thus giving the stockton company a reliable and econ economical water su supply aply thereby greatly curtailing the heavy expense io formerly r entailed in this direction an equally fine showing has been made in the mine workings since last fall necessary and important c 0 n n e c eions have been made between e the new and old workings of the property depth the real life of a good mine has been obtained known ore bodies have been tapped in the new and deeper levels and blind veins more than doubling the former estimated value of the mine have been encountered while avenues have been opened for the 06 economical and speedy handling of ore and waste from the underground chambers to the surface so that taking it all ali in all much has been accomplished during the past seven or eight months in the transformation of a comparative prospect as far as development was concerned into what within a whort short time now will prove I 1 to be a steady producer and paying mine jn in the mine workings since august last the crosscut cross cut on the level from the new working shaft has cut the noted catherine vein at a distance of feet from the new workings an upraise of feet connecting the crosscut cross cut with the old forkl workings 1 ng in which in several places fine bodies of shipping and milling ore are exposed the up upraise raise more than likely that in the near future reduction works will be erected for the successful bandli handling ncr of the immense tonnage of galena and carbonate milling ores now on the dumps and showing in the mine workings at the present time a great deal of actie ity is noticeable in stockton haunts atthe at the silver coin adjoining the stockton mine a new shaft and whim house and blacksmith shop
