Show 1 THE RED WING OF BINGHAM no special effort is required at the present time said a well known mining man to the M mining ining review a few days ago za to interest prospective buyers and investors in bingham properties as every property of promise and merit is a magnet or lodestone to those on the lookout for safe and profi profitable tab le investments and bingham is now so well and favorably known in the commercial centers in the east that any mention of mine or prospect pectin in this camp commands immediate and favorable attention 11 As we all know this statement is strictly true in every particular and we know also that no opportunity is being overlooked by investors in the effort to get in on meritorious propositions in this favored locality As a matter of fact mines which a few years aar ago bp were sadly neglected and given the goby are now looked upon as coming bonanzas and especially if they are located in the heart of the camp or in the near vicinity of some producer of note in this class may be chronicled the red bed wing t comprising an aggregation gre gation of several claims the group being located at the mouth of markham gulch near its con confluence fluence with bingham canyon the nine mine being within a few hundred yards of the center of the town of bingham the red wing like many other bingham properties has a history and the history if carefully perused will divulge the fact that the property has an enviable record as a producer of the precious metals and that small fortunes have been made from its several claims nearly at the grass roots the ore in nearly every instance being of exceptional high grade the morris claim alone now embraced in the red wing group being ac credited with a production of nearly hearly while within the boundaries of the consolidated dat pd properties there are at ae least ast afif fifty ty places punctured by prospect holes and 9 p where early owners have made maney money galore in mining operations added to its possessions until now it is the owner of eleven claims nine of which are patented the group covering some of the best and richest ground to be found in this wonderfully rich camp in the development of the property two main tunnels have been run and in the performance of this work splendid bodies of milling ore 4 w 4 4 jil N 4 N I 1 V 44 X 1 at I 1 SCENE AT THE RED WING have been uncovered the ore chutes being strati stratified fled with zones of high grade carbonates and galena every indication 1 going to show that the ore bodies go to the deep a and nd that the ledges are permanent and continuous less than two years ago the showing in the mine was such that it was the general b belief e that at an early day the company would be able to begin dividend payments these hopes were dispelled soon after however by the burning of the companas comp anys mill in main bingham canyon less than a quarter of a mile from the mine handicapped by this loss and being short of funds the company resorted to the old time custom of leasing the lessee les sees s beginning at the grassroots grass roots soon encountered a splendid body of ore from which they extracted nearly in discontinued operations and at the present time the management has exposed ready for extraction a breast of fine carbonate and galena ore a first class shipping product that is between four arid ard five feet in width while this splendid body of mineral has been virtually stripped or uncovered for a distance of twenty or twenty five feet and in the process precess of development has taken out sixty or seventy tons of shipping ore in addition to tons of second class which by concentrating three into one wi will 11 equal the first class in its metallic values this ore chute is found at the intersection of two stron strong ore makino making fissure veins with the columbia contact or bedded vein and there is every reason to believe that this body of high grade ore is continuous through the hill to freeman gulch encouraged by the success met with by the lessees lessels les sees and having a surplus in its treasury from the profits d derived from the surface ores the company expects to be able at an early day to open up the mine at a greater depth as every indication leads to the belief that the surface workings are an index of greater possibilities and larger bodies of ore w when hen the lower contacts in the property shall have been intelligently and sy systematically explored after takino taking a careful survey of bingham camp the observer is impressed with the thought that no one property in the district has a greater future in store than has the red wing mine its location is admirable the formation is all that could be desired the ore is surely there and apparently in inex hau stable quantities while the manau management ement is is reputable energetic conservative and fully determined and convinced that in time this property will find a place among among mines as a regular producer and dividend payer |
