Show TWENTY NINTH ANNUAL REPORT OF MINING INDUSTRY IS OUT the twenty ninth annual report of the mining industry of idaho issued by stewart campbell inspector of mines has just been released for distribution this report is the largest and most comprehensive of any issued by that department part ment it contains pages 29 illustrations is compactly set in small type and includes much more information than any previous report in preparing this report mr campbell has followed the lines of former reports compiled under his administration which have received high commendations for their systematic arrangement concise descriptions and complete information on the t great basic industry of idaho the foreword is a forceful statement of mr campbells position in encouraging the development of mineral resources which in his opinion can best be done by protecting the public against fraudulent mining promotions this he believes to be one of the principal duties of the inspector of mines the mining companies are listed by counties and each company receives special mention which includes its officers capitalization location of mine extent of underground workings mining equipment men employed and a brief review of work done during the year the report also gives a general review of mining throughout the state during the year this feature takes up each county and gives a complete resume of all the principal mining activities in fact this information makes it a complete handbook on mining in idaho the report is fully illustrated with numerous views of mining scenes in various parts of the state it is comprehensively hen indexed well arranged and its preparation has evidently involved much time and effort it should prove an excellent medium for advertising the states mineral resources copies of the report may be had upon request to the inspectors office at boise idaho |
