productive mining ground the transaction in its scope and magnitude giving to the purchasers a property which in its entena and value ranks next in importance to that which led to the sale of the united states holdings to the standard oil crowd and the Hi highland ahland boy to a big biff eastern syndicate the deal whereby the dalton lark eban changed cred hands means muc much h for the grand old camp of bin bingham and the fact that this splendid property has fallen into the hands of such men as ron hon P T farnsworth worth and willard F snyder ia in itself a guarantee that in the future it will avill surely take rank as one of the heavy dividend p payers ay c r s of this prolific district di district it is now nearly a year a ago tio that mr farnsworth became interested in the dal the hanauer interests in the property which had been secured by a million shares share of the capitalization of the company and in this enterprise he enlisted the services and coop co op aeration of willard F snyder the well known and successful mine promoter the result being that a week or two ago e the deal was closed by the payment of when the gentlemen g named decided to go for the entire proposition in order that the property might be entirely free from any future entangle ments and that be worked exten 7 77 7 34 I 1 W 4 N A 41 f A H WA pr ly wg agy steal ste cl THE DALTON A LARK HOIST AND concentrator ton lark at that time he had a bond and option on the property and but for un forseen obstacles the transfer would have beer made to him some time algo ago later he mad a an effort to buy systematically and profitably under under one management the effort was a success 11 as outlined above the tha details having been n closer on thursday of fc yeck when the dalton lark 11 edve gave a bond and option on the control of the company s stock for a period oi of six months the deal in its entirety taking in the hanauer interests interest cal calling liny for an expenditure pend iture of about SoO OOOO in order to secure perfect and unclouded title to the vast area of el ground around constituting dalton lark holdings the dalton lark territory embr embraces dees about thirty five patented claims which are divided into three groups known as the Brook brooklyn lyu the lark and the dalton the whole being contiguous or nearly so and covering s several everal parallel lodes or ledges on their strike these groups have been alte extensively developed and all have been producers producer 4 of silver le lead 0 gold rolce and opper copper ore while no flo figures 1 u res have been givel a iv e ti a us s to t 0 the t 11 brooklyn it is known that in the early history of the caulp camp a great ina many i i y thousands in ore 01 e have been taken from froin its workings and in the report of 0 A P palmer INI E malle made a few years ago the statement in jat I 1 is is made that the mine is far from being echaus exhausted ted as in its various openings there are large 0 quantities of milling I 1 v po posed ed the dalton or lead mino mine roup group also has an enviable record as a producer and for the treatment of the s shipper hipper and it was product of this property that the ibe old lead mill in bingham canyon was built and which was so successfully operated for many years or until i the plant was destroyed by fire about four years years ago mr palmer in his report also made mention of the fact that the lead mine inin estill artill had a ledr long lease on life notwithstanding its years of productiveness it is conceded however that the barkand lark and dump claims of the lark group constitute the most valuable holdings of the company principally from the fact that this is practically virgin 0 11 ground round its extensive exploration showing showie I 1 mammoth bodies of shipping and milling ore exposed the mineral often going I 1 high 1 in its gold r and copper contents in his report on the lark prof palmer says the ore chute now being t worked upon the lark vein is one continuous body of ore 1500 tee teet t long with kith an average width of five feet and extends from the foot level to the foot level but little has been done on it this one body of ore then gives Z ground 1500 feet by feet by five feet which should produce tons of ore this ore makes a net average of 10 a ton as shown by the shipments already made so far the eAir estimate nate is only for what is in sight I 1 jud judging idar from the brooklyn and lead mine and others in the district there is eve every ry reason reabon to believe that the lark body of ore will increase its present size and richness for at least feet below its present workings at the foot level the ore is thirteen feet thick as it is in the brooklyn at the 1500 foot level and it is fair to presume this continues this report by one of the most eminent mining engineers of the state who for years has been on tile the staff of the ontario daly and other park city mines has since been more than corroborated by development and the property is in much better physical condition today than it was at the time prof palmers halmers Pal mers report was made magnificent 1 bodies of gold copper sulphide ore being exposed below the water level so that the new purchasers have every reason to believe that in this new acquisition they have a proposition which will yield its millions if properly handled the lark group is equipped with modern hoisting works and mill while the brooklyn has a plant of its own and so has the old lead mine the various holdings of the company being connected with the tramway which leads lead s to the railroad in the canyon in time the dalton lark will doubtless rank next to the united states and tile the High highland laud bo boy y as producers producer of the precious in atals |
