Show NEW MEXICO NORTH DAKOTA AND WYOMING during the year 1918 mines in new mexico produced in gold ounces of silver pounds of lead pounds of copper and pounds of zinc the statistics for 1919 will show a considerable decrease in the output of all metals except gold the chino copper company which in 1918 produced pounds of copper and in gold and silver produced only pounds of copper during the first quarter of 1919 owing to curtailment of operations this company hopes to be able to continue operations at 50 per cent capacity the burro mountain branch of the phelps dodge company which in 1918 produced tons of concentrate averaging percent per cent copper has been so seriously affected by the drop in the price of copper that it has suspended operations the santa fe gold copper co has also ceased operations erat ions at san pedro during the first five months of 1919 the 85 mining company at lordsburg Lords burg shipped a quantity of siliceous copper silver gold ore r almost equal to that shipped by it during the entire year 1918 development at mogollon may maintain an output of silver equal to that of 1918 when the fanney mill was operated only five months the combined gold district of nogal White oaks and baldy have so tar far produced ore at an increased rate the decreased shipments of lead and lead zinc ores from magdalena and the discontinuance of the shipments of lead from the organ mountains district will greatly reduce the output of lead from the state the suspension of operations in pinol altos and the curtailment of operations at hanover and kelly will naturally result in a greatly decreased output of zinc the black hills mining district of south dakota produced in gold and ounces of silver in 1918 from january 1 1918 to october 27 1918 the home stake mine and mills were operated at full capacity but during the remainder of the year the property was operated at only 71 per cent capacity this property which produces the bulk of the output of south dakota had not reached full capacity in june 1919 the golden reward mines and mill closed in 1918 have not resumed operations erat ions the trojan and the mogul mills have both been operated in 1919 the production for the state in 1919 will apparently not equal the production in 1918 mines in wyoming produced 7 ounces of gold ounces of silver and pounds of copper in 1918 the shipments of silver copper ore from the sunrise mine near hartville the principal producing mine in wyoming for several years have not been continuous in 1919 A mill has been built to treat the dump ores of the old perris ferris haggerty mines long idle at encampment camp ment the rambler copper platinum mine at holmes has been idle in 1919 |
